Curriculum Music

Music is a vital part of life at All Hallows.

Opportunities abound for the beginner, the enthusiast and those interested in trying something new. A wide range of performance platforms is provided so that all pupils are able to take part and flourish.

Throughout the school, music is taught by specialist teachers who are trained and experienced musicians. The Director of Music teaches all children from Year Five upwards and our Junior Music specialist inspires our younger children.

Lessons are practical music-making opportunities, whether with voice, instruments or computer. This experience is supported by written work which covers relevant historical background, the building of an extensive Music dictionary and Music Appreciation in Year 8. Lessons embrace topics as diverse as the Blues, Graphic scores, the Elements of Music and Indian music.
