Watched by an enthusiastic audience comprising parents, relatives and friends, Year 4 proudly presented their much anticipated version of Roald Dahl’s classic ‘Charlie & The Chocolate Factory’. With its colourful set, complete with chocolate river, and vibrant characters, the show was a roaring success, with particular highlights including the dancing and singing of the orange-faced Oompa Loompas, as well as the eccentric and exuberant performance of Willy Wonka (played by Edmund Burgess). There were strong solo performances by Rosie Byrne (narrator), Lucas Phelan (Mr Teavee) and Georgina Hackett as Veruca Salt. The audience was delighted to accompany the Golden ticket winners on their tour of the factory, especially enjoying the Mike Teavee’s television disaster and the Salt family’s disappearance down the rubbish chute.
At the time of going to press, the photos of the Year 4 staff dressed as Oompa Loompas were unavailable…or so said Mrs Murphy.
