As part of the History curriculum, Year 7 visited Wells
Cathedral and Glastonbury Abbey.
At Wells, pupils had fascinating guided tours, during which
they learnt about the Abbey pre and post Reformation. The highlight for
many was the visit to the Library, as pupils were able to see two bibles, which
highlighted the changes that the Reformation brought about. Pupils were
then taken to the Education Centre, where they investigated a variety of
They then moved onto Glastonbury Abbey, whereby pupils dressed up
in medieval costume and re-enacted scenes from 1514 to approximately 1558, in
order to understand the effects of the Reformation on the Abbey.
This augments their study of religion, pre and post
Reformation in Britain.
