History Enrichment Trip
14th Mar 2014

As part of the History curriculum, Year 7 visited Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Abbey.

At Wells, pupils had fascinating guided tours, during which they learnt about the Abbey pre and post Reformation.  The highlight for many was the visit to the Library, as pupils were able to see two bibles, which highlighted the changes that the Reformation brought about.  Pupils were then taken to the Education Centre, where they investigated a variety of sources.

They then moved onto Glastonbury Abbey, whereby pupils dressed up in medieval costume and re-enacted scenes from 1514 to approximately 1558, in order to understand the effects of the Reformation on the Abbey.

This augments their study of religion, pre and post Reformation in Britain.
