Welcome from the Head

A Foundation of Happiness

Image

Welcome to All Hallows, a truly unique and inclusive Somerset Prep School where pupils, parents, and staff alike feel they truly belong.

My journey here spans almost three decades, and the core philosophy has remained unwavering: your child’s happiness and wellbeing are the absolute foundation of everything we do. This focus on creating a secure, supportive environment ensures every child can thrive.

Leading the way in Wellbeing

This commitment to pastoral excellence is not just a promise; it is nationally recognised. I am deeply honoured to have been invited to join the prestigious National Education Panel at the Anna Freud Centre - a world-leading organisation dedicated to improving children’s mental health and wellbeing.

This appointment is a direct reflection of our belief that a great education must nurture the whole child - their curiosity, confidence, creativity, and wellbeing - as much as their academic outcomes. This ensures All Hallows School remains at the forefront of best practices, giving our children the very best foundation to flourish.

Our Whole Child philosophy & outcomes

Believing that the different aspects of a child’s life are mutually reinforcing, we work in close partnership with parents to develop each pupil emotionally, creatively, intellectually, socially, and spiritually. We cultivate essential characteristics like resilience, teamwork, and open-mindedness, believing there are no ceilings to learning.

This distinctive approach is hugely successful:

  • Our pupils are busy, happy, energetic, and share a love of the outdoor life, with art, creative design, music, and sport offered to everyone.

  • Each child leave us exceptionally well-prepared for their senior schools of choice. Furthermore, around 65% of our pupils in recent years have achieved a scholarship or award in the process.

The All Hallows Community

We are an entirely inclusive Christian school, warmly welcoming children and families of all faiths and none.

For our boarders, our main house offers a true 'home-from-home' experience a warm and caring atmosphere, complete with log fires and welly boots. This sense of family permeates the whole of our school life.

By proudly joining the Monkton Family of Schools, we share resources and expertise, strengthening our provision while maintaining our unique identity and independence for senior school choices.

I urge you to come and visit so you can experience the genuine warmth and sheer vibrancy of our community in action. I would be delighted to meet you.
