We aim to inspire every pupil through dynamic, creative experiences that ignite imagination while developing a deeper understanding of Art. We nurture confidence, resilience, and skills that extend far beyond the Creative Centre - encouraging children to think laterally, embrace mistakes, and discover that creativity multiplies when challenged.

Whether painting, sculpting, or sketching, we encourage high standards and adventurous exploration across various media - but never at the expense of joy. Here, Art is about the journey as much as the outcome.

Junior School (Year 1 to 6):
Art lessons intersect with classroom themes, reinforcing cross-curricular connections and proving creativity enriches all learning. Young artists quickly discover that imaginative exploration has no boundaries.

Senior School (Years 7 and 8):
Pupils engage with dynamic, rotating themes that show how one creative idea sparks another. Recent projects like Sports, Mad Hatters' Tea Party and Enchanted Forest build artistic confidence while demonstrating that the more creativity is used, the more it grows.

The Drawing & Painting Studio: Alive with colour, this light-filled space hosts explorations in watercolour, acrylics, collage, and printmaking.

The Clay & Sculpture Studio: Home to our kiln, plaster works, and 3D projects—from delicate ceramics to large-scale installations.

Beyond the Classrooms: Inspiration & Exhibitions
We're fortunate to be surrounded by galleries, including Hauser & Wirth (Bruton), The Holburne Museum (Bath), and Bristol's museums, which enrich our pupils' and community's artistic perspectives. Visiting professional artists - painters, sculptors, and ceramicists - further ignites inspiration.

Furthermore, we love showing off our pupils' Artwork and Creativity. The main school is filled with Artwork from across the school, taking pride of place in corridors and common rooms, in the Head's Gallery, and the Head's study.

We have a Creative Showcase once a year which is open to the All Hallows Community, and our Artwork is always on proud display during our End-of-Year Prize Giving event.

Our goal is to cultivate a visionary mindset, providing pupils with the practical skills and the creative confidence required to improve the world around them.

Junior School (Years 1 to 6): The creative journey begins with hands-on workshop projects, where pupils master the use of traditional tools under the guidance of our specialist teaching staff. Starting in the dedicated Creative Design Classroom, pupils build a strong foundation in manual graphic and making skills. As they progress, they bridge the gap between tradition and technology - learning to harness Computer-Aided Design (CAD) alongside 3D printing, laser, and knife-cutting technologies (CAM). Throughout Key Stages 2 and 3, pupils also engage in challenging coding and robotics modules using the BBC microbit.

Senior School (Years 7 and 8): By the time a pupil completes their journey in Year 8, they will have experienced a decade of creative exploration at All Hallows. This longevity allows us to deliver a uniquely broad and ambitious curriculum. Each year, projects increase in complexity, ensuring that our leavers are confident, technically skilled, and equipped with a portfolio of work that demonstrates high-level problem solving and design thinking.

The Creative Design Workshop: Our workshop pairs classic woodworking craftsmanship with modern innovation, featuring overhead camera teaching stations and high-precision CAM tools - including the Prusa MK3S with HEPA extraction and advanced computer-controlled cutting systems. It is a fully equipped hub designed to meet every creative challenge.

The Creative Design Studio: Our secondary teaching space is dedicated to the future of Creative Design. Pupils master digital creation using professional software like Tinkercad and Techsoft 2D Design before bringing ideas to life with Makerbot 3D printing. From a dedicated photography studio and textiles area - featuring sublimation printing and heat press technology - to robotics and coding with the BBC Microbit, the Creative Design Studio is where modern design takes shape. 

Scholarship Excellence & Portfolios: All Hallows has a proven track record of preparing pupils for prestigious Senior School Scholarships. Whether a pupil is pursuing a specialist Creative Design award or offering the subject as part of an all-round scholarship, we provide the dedicated mentorship required to succeed.

Advanced Portfolio Development: We recognise that exceptional portfolios require time and focus. We provide our Scholars with additional time in the Workshop and Studio, allowing them to produce work of the highest caliber.

Leveraging our team's extensive experience in Senior School Education, we guide pupils in creating GCSE-style digital portfolios. These projects are designed to showcase a sophisticated range of design approaches, combining traditional hand-skills with advanced machine-tool precision.
