Find the Right Time to Join the All Hallows Community
The journey into a new school is a significant moment for any family. At All Hallows, we have dedicated entry points designed to ensure a smooth and joyful transition for your child, whether they are beginning their formal education or joining us at a later stage.
We welcome children at different ages and stages, with our most common entry years being Nursery, Reception, and Year 3. We also have a long tradition of welcoming new pupils into our school throughout the academic year, dependent on the availability of spaces.
EARLY YEARS ENTRY POINTS
Nursery Entry
We are pleased to welcome our youngest learners into our Nursery class in the term following their third birthday. Our Nursery and Reception classes are located side by side, occupying a central position in the school, and children benefit from dedicated indoor and outdoor learning spaces that are both stimulating and fun.
The curriculum is centered on a play-based approach, led by the interests of the children themselves, and provides access to specialist teaching staff for subjects such as Music, Art, and P.E.. The school day runs from 8:25 to 16:05, with an early drop-off available from 8:20 and late pick-up until 16:30 for a nominal additional cost. To help support families, we accept the Early Years Entitlement grant and employer childcare voucher schemes.
Reception Entry
Children can join our Reception class in the September when they are four years old. The Reception class is situated alongside the Nursery in the heart of the school and provides a happy, calm, and safe environment for children to flourish.
Our small class sizes and high teacher: pupil ratio allow our children to receive personalized attention, and they have full access to our school facilities, benefiting from the expertise of specialist teachers in subjects like Forest School, Dance, Music, and Swimming. The day runs from 8:25 to 16:05, and we offer a convenient early drop-off from 8:00 and a late pick-up option at 17:00 at no additional cost.
Junior school entry points
Year 3 and above
Our Prep School offers a seamless transition from the foundational learning of children at the very start of their education journey. Year 3 is a key entry point where many children join our community, often moving on from their previous schools including local first and primary schools.
While Year 3 is a common time for new pupils to join us, we consider applications for other year groups throughout the school. We understand that family circumstances can change, and we are happy to discuss entry into other year groups, subject to availability.
SENIOR school entry points
Year 7 and above
By allowing students to spend two additional years within the supportive prep school environment, they can enjoy being children for longer and are shielded from the immediate pressures of the Senior School setting. This extended period ensures a more gentle and developmentally appropriate path before the demands of higher education begin.
Our programme offers a seamless and comprehensive educational transition designed to bridge the gap between Junior and Senior School. We provide a individualised curriculum that is specifically focused on strengthening core skills and nurturing intellectual curiosity. Furthermore, students benefit from learning in a bespoke classroom setting that has been uniquely created to foster independence and responsibility. We also place a strong emphasis on integrating technology across subjects, ensuring that students are digitally proficient and well-prepared for modern academic demands. This comprehensive and supportive approach thoroughly prepares your child, guaranteeing that they feel confident and ready before making the successful move to their chosen Senior School.
