Celebrating armed forces day | All Hallows supporting armed forces day

Armed forces day takes place on the last Saturday of June, celebrations for armed forces day can begin anywhere from the week before to several days after. At All Hallows, many of our pupils are from families who have parents or guardians who are currently serving in the armed forces. It is such a special day for us to help our pupils feel proud of their families and celebrate this fantastic day.Keep reading to learn more about armed forces day and how we at All Hallows celebrate this fantastic cause.

What is Armed Forces day?

Armed forces day provides us all to celebrate and honour the men and women who work within the armed forces. Those who work in the armed forces sacrifice so much in order to protect the country and the people within it. It is important that we as a nation show our support and gratitude for those who work tirelessly to protect us all. There are many people involved within the armed forces, from current serving troops and families, to veterans and cadets.

How to celebrate armed forces day

There are many ways to celebrate and show your support for armed forces day. All over the UK there are many events happening to support armed forces day. Locally we have found two events that parents and families of All Hallows can access easily. However, visit the armed forces day website to find other events happening over the UK.

Bridgewater armed forces day

Bridgewater is hosting its first ever armed forces day, this free event is organised by the Royal British Legion and has an array of spectacles to be seen. From marching bands, military wives choir, firepower demonstrations and more. There will also be crafts and stalls along with fantastic local food and drinks. Join the fun on 8th July between 10.20 am – 4.30 pm

Kilmington Common

Step back in time with the Warminster armed forces step back in time. Join the celebrations with a 1940’s themed dance, enjoy vintage jazz and an evening of fun and fantasy. Don’t forget this is a themed event so make sure you dress up accordingly.24th June at 7 pm – 11 pm.
